Where is SS&C SummerWind? SummerWind is located at 40 Griffin Road North in the Griffin Office Park off Blue Hills Avenue in Windsor, Connecticut.

Where do people park who attend concerts? SummerWind makes use of the parking lots owned by the businesses in the Griffin Office Park. It is a short walk from the lots to the SS&C SummerWind facility. Buses are also provided and handicapped parking is offered adjacent to the site.

Can Tickets be Purchased Locally? Tickets can be purchsed at the Bushnell Box Office in Hartford. They will also be available at the SS&C SummerWind Box Office on the day of our concerts. The box office will open at 6PM.

What are we allowed to bring into SS&C SummerWind? Please see the food and beverage policy above. If you are purchasing general admission (lawn) seating, you are allowed to bring in your own upright chair. We do not allow tables, lounge chairs or shade umbrellas. If you are purchasing reserved seating under the tent, you can bring a small cooler to your seat if it is small enough to fit under the chair.

What were some of your past acts? Wynton Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Blood Sweat and Tears, Judy Collins, Bruce Hornsby, Roberta Flack, Janice Ian, Count Basie Orchestra, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Celia Cruz (in her last appearance in Connecticut).

Are Children admitted for free? Children under 3 are admitted to the reserved section for free, but they will have to sit on your lap since other people may have purchased adjacent seats.
Children under 6 will be admitted free for lawn seating.

Why did SS&C SummerWind close down in 2004? SummerWind's tent that was designed to cover over 1,500 people collapsed during a snow storm in February, 2003. By the end of 2004, the remaining tent had to be removed and no agreement had been reached with the insurance company and the manufacturer. SummerWind pursued legal remedies.

What is different about the new tent design? The new tent design will make use of the existing poles and the reinforced concrete below ground. The new tent will look much like the original tent, but the tent will be taken down each year following the last event.

How is SummerWind staffed? Due to the seasonal nature of our business, most work is contracted. There is just one part-time employee who is employed year round. During the season, SummerWind has a large volunteer staff.

How does SS&C SummerWind receive support? There are many ways to receive recognition for supporting SS&C SummerWind. These include naming rights for the stage, VIP tent, etc. There are sponsorship opportunities, advertising and on-site recognition, VIP seating and even signage on seatbacks. Individual contributions are tax-deductable.

From where does SummerWind draw its audience? SummerWind's audience is region wide with significant attendance from Windsor, West Hartford, Bloomfield, South Windsor, Enfield, Glastonbury, and Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Is the venue available to other organizations? Yes, the venue can be rented and in the past has been used by the Hartford Business Journal, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundations.

Who owns the SummerWind property? SummerWind has a rent-free lease from Griffin Land of Bloomfield, Connecticut.

How much are tickets for SummerWind Events? Prices range from $60.00 for reserved front section seats under the tent to $35.00 for general admission lawn seating.

Are chairs provided? If you have reserved seating (under the tent), then seats are provided (just like in a concert hall). If you have general admission (lawn) tickets, then you will need to bring a straight backed chair. No lounge chairs are permitted.

Are pets allowed into SS&C SummerWind? No. Research has shown that dogs and cats do not enjoy music as much as people do. They seem to be more interested in each other and that can be a problem.

Is there handicapped access to SS&C SummerWind? Yes, Handicapped parking is across from the SS&C SummerWind Site on Griffin Road North. Handicapped permits are required. For reserved seating, please call the national ticketmaster charge by phone number: 1-800-745-3000.
