SS&C SummerWind had an outstanding summer season. And as our fiscal year is quickly coming to a close, we need your help to balance the books to ensure that next year is just as stellar.
With support from people like you, SS&C SummerWind more than doubled the number of performances we offered this year. We added a new "Fridays at 5" series featuring fine local acts, and showcased well known national and regional artists during our Saturday night series. Ticket sales were up. We received increased support from the business community. And two large grants from the Mortensen Foundation and Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving enabled us to purchase new stage, lights and sound.
Yet financial realities mean that we need to show a balanced budget by the end of our fiscal year and we're not there yet. We are asking you, our valued patrons, to help get us to the finish line. We need to raise $60,000 in the next several weeks to close the books on the 2013 season and begin planning for 2014. This is no small task. But SS&C SummerWind supporters have come through for us before, and we hope you will again.
If you value our reasonably priced entertainment, if you support our commitment to provide free tickets for kids under 17, if you like the fact that you can bring your own picnic and drinks to our beautiful venue, if you like the spectacular range of artists we bring to you each summer please consider making a donation today. The time to step up is now. We are lining up sponsors for next year, scouting talent and continuing our plan to be the region's best nonprofit outdoor concert venue. Your immediate contribution will make this possible.
